What We Offer

Adult Courses

P7010012.JPG

In partnership with The Trust for Thanet Archaeology, we provide both day time and evening courses based on their exemplary artefact collection and archive .

Ever wondered what it felt like to hold a prehistoric flint axe head or handle a Roman pot that still has the maker's thumb prints?

Spinning, dyeing with plants and flint knapping are just some of the experimental workshops planned for the coming year.

School Workshops

Want to be an archaeologist for the day?

Mobile-Archaeology can provide half day or whole day workshops linked to the National Curriculum and the needs and interests of you children.

We  provide workshops for KS2 pupils which allow them to handle real Anglo Saxon finds. Using a range of equipment, the artefacts are explored from a scientific, mathematical and artistic point of view.  Children are also encouraged to imagine the lives of the people who made and used the artefacts.

Prehistoric, Roman and general archaeology workshops are also available.

Family Activities

Seen the Pop Up Museum?

Mobile-Archaeology works alongside The Trust for Thanet Archaeology, bringing the past to the people.

Why not follow the link to The Antoinette Centre to see when and where the Pop Up Museum will appear next?

Fancy some History at Half Term?

Why not book a family place on a workshop and make a Saxon shield, some Roman armour or excavate our skeleton?
